Acrylic Membranes
AWS supply & install the best waterproofing membranes for the situation at hand, each situation is different in regards to what membrane we use or recommend you use on your project. AWS carries a large variety of membranes as we believe that no membrane can be used in every situation.
Acryllic membranes are commonly used in bathrooms & balconies that are not heavy traffic areas, These membranes are generally a 2 part application applied in a 2 coat procedure.
Joints are caulked and bonding tape used on all expansion joints to ensure the membrane performs to its desired effect.
Torchon Membranes
AWS Supply and apply all types of torch on membranes, we install mineral or straight 1 layer torch on, again with torch the most common failures is the detailing of penetrations and the overlapping of edges, at AWS we ensure the area is primed and each detail is looked at prior to applying the membrane, Torch on is still one of the best forms of waterproofing as it is a thick bitumen that enables heavy traffic & UV rays don’t damage the membrane.

MEMBRANE FAILURES, occur most commonly when the application is not given the proper attention needed to ensure no leaking happens. If membranes are applied to thin there is a chance the tiler will create holes in it whilst tiling the area, for this reason we apply a second coat to ensure the correct thickness is achieved. At AWS all technicians are trained to identify problem areas and to apply the proper procedure to each situation to ensure the job is done right the first time. AWS has its own tiling service with experienced tilers on board that are trained in waterproofing in order to ensure the membrane is at the right thickness prior to the tiling commencing. With this spot check system in place we can assure the best outcome for all our projects and peace of mind to the end user of the structure.
